Off on Hol
I know this was my big plan for last year, but things got messy last year and it just didn't materialise. So today I've just bitten the bullet and booked in for 4 nights at this place

http://uk.geocities.com/martin.j.bird@btinternet.com/

Off to the 'ring for 5 days. 3rd - 7th of August. Like a wee kid at Christmas atm. Going to continue the other 12 days of my hols in Italy (Family) and France (Visit Matthew, he moved out there last year).

Hotel was a fucking bargain, 45euros a night WITH breakfast.

Now all I need is my channel crossing. SortedBig Grin

Oh also going to rent a bike one day and use the cycle tracks round the area. Do a bit of site seeing. With beer Big Grin

RE: Off on Hol
lol haha I remember that, I did fall for it. Smile

Oh yes definately plenty of photo's. Got wifi in the hotel, so I'll probably keep constant update here with my daily activities whilst I have some nice chilled beer at the end of the day.

Ordering up Greenstuff pads next month (Only performance pads available). Just need to copy your idea superjoe of getting a 5th alloy for backup measures. Going to swap the rear two Yokohama's for another two toyo's as one of the Yoko's was repiared for a screw puncture. Wouldn't be comfortable driving the 'ring knowing that.

The hotel do have contacts though if I need a tyre repaired/replaced.

RE: Off on Hol
Postman Pats Van lol, a red Suzuki Ignis Sport. First time I'll have taken it on a track. Unless I can get booked in at Knockhill for a training course in track driving before I leave.

Also decided I'd like to stop off in Bastogne in Belgium. Have a look around the place. Read about the Battle of the Bulge so wouldn't mind seeing the place for myself. Was thinking of Benouville but it's too far out of the way, might catch that on the return leg of the journey/.

RE: Off on Hol
Aye mind swatching over that a while ago, a lot more bikers than i'd have thought, did you find that when you went ?

another one where a guy keeps going to over-take one of the ring taxi's but the door keeps getting slammed shut. I thought it was that one but after watching it, it isn't. I mind waching it thinking someone was going to over step the mark.

I also like this video.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GrhgAGhQU0s&NR=1

That'll be a sign for me to go home if that happens lol. Minds the ring legend one to where the guy spins after driving 10m of the track lol, class video.

EDIT just realised I posted the wrong hotel, it was the Burgstube. Martin the guy that runs it was brand new and very helpful with my questions. Just underneath the castle

RE: Off on Hol
Fucking Germans!

As you all know I'm off to the Green hell, I booked in the knowledge that I'd have the choice of 4 days to visit the track at least twice during my stay. Just checked today, the track has now been reduced to two days during my time there! Cuntz The Wednesday and the Thursday.

I'm now getting a sticker made up with "Allies 1 Axis 0 - Get it up ye!" to show my unhappiness.

Means I'll have to do 5 laps over both days if the weather is good, which I really, really need to stay good otherwise I'll be going for nothing. I will cry if that happens. I'll have the laptop so I'll do a live stream of me crying Sad

Which looking at the webcam of the ring, it's pissing down

I'm not leaving till I get a lap.
