R-Type Dimensions
1200 MS Points?

Well...

R-Type and R-Type two were classic games developed by IREM, who were, as the titles suggest, the creators of the R-Type franchise.

These are the arcade originals, we are told and they play well, but... well, I don't know.

Adding a co-op version? Surely just makes the game too easy.

800 MS Points and you download this and boot it when you want to get to the Bydo Drednoguht level and you play and love.

1200 MS Points... it's a bit steep, isn't it?

RE: R-Type Dimensions
Have to say and this is not like me at all, but - the C64 version was far inferior to the Speccy 48k verison.

The ol' rubber keys followed the original much more closely and played better, even if it looked monochrome - it was far better.

Katakis on the C64 and Armalyte / Delta and Salamander however - RULED!

Also, Turrican II on the C64 is one of the most accomplished games ever made and that was by Manfred Trenz too (he also did Katakis and Great Giahna Sisters, both of which were challenged as blatant copies and both were taken off the shelves)...

lol

Chosen specialised subject is...

Wink

RE: R-Type Dimensions
I'm with you all the way, I never actually 'owned' a 48k Speccy, but I have one now for my 8-bit collection, however my very good buddy Phil had a rubber key and I used to play R-Type on his.

It really is better.

Again - these words do not often come from me...

lol

1200 points is a rip off haven't they heard of the credit crunch Rolleyes

As for Snes Super R-TYPE wasn't it plagued with slowdown when there was too many sprites on screen if i remember correctly i never played the C64 or Speccy release i vaguely remember the Master System and Gameboy releases though which i liked at the time Cool
